Return with Honor

I've been to my fair share of missionary homecoming talks. They're actually one of my favorite meetings to go to. Why?

1. Because the spirit in that meeting is always so strong and it's so amazing to see how much the Elder has grown spiritually in 2 years.

2. Because every time it reminds me of my husbands homecoming talk.

That is a day I will never forget. His sacrament was bright and early at 9 am (remember I spent ALL weekend with him till late) I woke up at 6 to make cinnamon rolls for the luncheon and got ready at the same time. Hello it takes longer to get ready for a special occasion like this because you want to look PERFECT! The dress I picked was so cute (I actually wore it for my engagement photos) I didn't realize at the time it would be in November meaning, IT WOULD BE COLD! This dress wasn't the warmest, but you can't wear the outfit you picked out for this very day! So freezing it is.

When I walked into the chapel I ran into one of Mickal's previous companions I introduced myself and got chatting. It was awesome he said "So you're the girl that Elder McMurray is crazy about" I felt my face blush but I didn't mind. Hearing that Mickal talked about me on his mission made me feel so loved and special.

Then he walked in the doors, I instantly felt numb and like a 7th grade with a crush. It wasn't like it was the first time I saw him. I spent all weekend with him. But I am so in love with him every time I see him I am just taken back how amazing he is! Anyways...He gave an amazing talk! He was given pretty much the whole meeting. You know youth speakers and their 2 minutes talks. Yeah, Mickal had the rest with no rest hymn or anything.

The spirit that he brought to that chapel was amazing. Hearing stories of members in his mission, and experiences that happened their make me so proud of him. He was a great missionary. Everyday I am grateful for him serving a mission. When our kids ask about our love story I will tell them how we were separated for 2 years and communicated by love letters. I will forever be a RMG (Return Missionary Girlfriend) or in my case a RMW (Return Missionary Wife) :)
