Christmas with the McMurray's

Wow life is getting so hectic it's hard to blog anymore! I just want to share my wonderful Christmas that I spent with my wonderful family and husband. First of all, can I just say how much I love Christmas...I LOVE CHRISTMAS!! It's my favorite time of year. I get to spend time with my family and not have to worry about work, school or anything. It's just me and my family! I have found out over the years that I love to give presents. Me seeing their reaction to their present is my absolute favorite. I would rather give then receive. But receiving isn't a awful thing either :)

Anyways on Christmas Eve I spent the day cleaning my apartment and wrapping presents mostly for my spoiled husband. Once Mickal got home from work I gave him his Christmas jammies and we headed to my mom's for our annual Christmas Eve party with the Millers :)

I love to be with my extended family they bring me so much joy and happiness it's hard to explain! Anyways! We hate lots and lots of food, talked and finally had our annual Christmas lesson about the first Christmas the true reason behind the Christmas season. One tradition we always do is while watching the Nativity LDS movie we turn the sound down and turn on the best Christmas song "Breath of Heaven Mary's Song" and it fits the story perfectly. It just makes the season that much better.

Christmas morning Mickal and I slept in (which was much needed) we opened our presents from each other. P.S. I spoiled him and LOVED IT! After we got ready and headed to my parent's house for brunch, to relax and spend time with one another. Pretty much the rest of the day was spent snacking, napping and relaxing! I wouldn't trade it for the world! I LOVE CHRISTMAS!!!

Happy Holidays all you bloggers!

Forgotten carols/Nutcracker

Wow life has been busy! I haven't had time to blog! Anyways I had the great opportunity last week to go to the Forgotten Carols and the Nutcacker! What great shows! First of all I love shows! I love to go to theaters and watch performances. One of my guilty pleasures!

First, the Forgotten carols oh my goodness where do I even begin? I have grown up listening to the Forgotten Carols soundtrack but have never been to the actual show! My parents bought them for us as a early Christmas present and a great present it was! There is a point at the end of the show where you sing with Michael and say "We can be together forever someday" That point was very emotional to me. I can't even put into words what I felt but it was amazing! :)

Now the nutcracker! Our niece and nephews are in the nutcracker every year! What a joy they brought to us seeing them on the stage! They were meant for the spotlight :) the company did a great job at the nutcracker! Me being the dancer I LOVED watching the dancers! It made me miss dancing even more than I already do! Anyways go see the nutcracker you won't regret it! :)

MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM THE MCMURRAY'S :)

Thanksgiving with the McMurray's!

I know this post is late but this holiday weekend has been crazy! But I just have to post about my Thanksgiving with my husband and family! :)

Food
Family
Friends
Games
Laughter
Love
Thankful
And so much more!

Our thanksgiving was fantastic! Mickal got up early to play Turkey Bowl with his brothers and friends! He got all his gear and got ready. I love Mickal before he plays football he gets so excited and energetic! He could of played all day if he could!
All ready to go to play Turkey Bowl!

After Mickal got home he showered and got ready to dig in at my Aunt Dawn's for her AMAZING food! So my aunt is probably the best cook in this world! If only I could cook like her! I love also getting together with my family! Family means more to me than anyone would know! So getting together is like heaven! After we ate we chatted played with the babies and after played werewolves. If you have never played it YOUR CRAZY! It's one of the funniest games and when my family and I play it's hilarious! Then after werewolves it was pumpkin pie time (duh pumpkin pie at thanksgiving is a must) after our bellies were fullest to the fullest it was time to depart and say goodbye!

After we left we headed to Mickals sisters house and played more games and had a good time. Ps never play Rook-most boring and confusing game ever!!

My first thanksgiving with my husband was a success. I can't believe last thanksgiving he was only home for 2 1/2 weeks! Time sure does fly!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Love the McMurrays!

It's A Cooking Kind of Night!

So lately I have had the huge urge to cook. For people who know me well know that's kind of HUGE. Going to be honest I was NOT born to cook. I'm decent but not a master chef! When I became a wife I thought I really needed to cook for my husband so he doesn't starve. I have always wanted to be an amazing cook. Maybe I won't be one now but I'm still young. I have time.

So last night I made this chicken breast that was amazing (thanks Mindi for the recipe!) it was super easy and tastes great! The only thing make sure your chicken is completely thawed or it will take 2x as long to cook. Yup learned  that the hard way. Remember it takes time to be a good cook :)

Tonight during work I had in my head what I wanted to make. And with the amazing help of my husband we cooked together and made a great meal together and dessert for later :) Cooking meals with my husband is the best, we have the best conversations sometimes we will bust out dancing or just cute flirting and some good laughs. These are the memories I'll look back on when were wrinkled and old.

Anyways back to cooking, I have time to make great meals. It takes time to master things. With time I will make dinners that my kids will want seconds and maybe even thirds but again, I have time.

Enjoy dinner at the McMurray's :)

My husband made this amazing sauce that was probably the best thing I've ever tasted. Yup I've got a keeper

Noodles anyone?

Final product

There's always room for dessert :)

These turned out AMAZING!!

5 Months of Marriage Complete!

Wow 5 months ago today I was at my reception with my new husband.  We've been married for almost half a year, that's incredible. Everyday I wish I could go back to my wedding day. It was absolutely perfect, we were showered with love with by our loved ones. Being sealed to Mickal was the easiest decision I have ever made. Yeah, marriage isn't easy, but it's worth it. We have defiantly had our ups and downs. We are still learning new things about each other. That's what marriage is. I fall in love with Mickal more and more everyday (yes even those days that he just drives me insane)

Sorry I know this is getting sappy. Anyways, I never got to thank all those who helped with our wedding and those who came and supported us on our big day. We are eternally grateful and lucky for all the incredible people we have in our life.

Happy 5 month anniversary Mickal! Can't wait to spend many more months together. Forever and Always!

A Little Introduction of Us.

I have wanted to start a blog for sometime now, but I always had the fear of what if no one cares? What if no one reads it? What happens it doesn't make since? Well I put all those fears away and decided to do it! So if you're not a fan of my blog then I apologize.

I am Brittney McMurray, I am a recently new McMurray hence the name of my blog "Life of A McMurray" I married the man of my dreams Mickal on June 12, 2013. It was seriously the best day of my life, everyday I wish that I could go back and relive that day. It was one of the best days of my life!

Background on Mickal and I, we met in High School. Yup, we are one of those high school sweethearts that made it! I also had to wait 2 years to marry my husband while he served a 2 year mission in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. That was a experience that I will never forget. I learned so much while was gone and realized my love for him and the want to be with him for eternity. He returned home November 8, 2012 (yup his year mark of being home was yesterday INSANE!) He proposed March 9, 2012 and then again married in June.

I am grateful for my life, it's not perfect. I have struggles and trials but that's what life is. Life is meant to be hard. With my husband and family by my side I know I can make through it all! Well that is pretty much my life in a nutshell! Enjoy my blog and what I share with you of the "Life of a McMurray"
